The Revelator is an editorially independent news and ideas site -- founded and established by myself -- covering endangered species, climate change, public lands, pollution, environmental justice and related topics. A project of the Center for Biological Diversity, The Revelator seeks to redefine the conversation about conservation in the 21st century. We publish a broad range of journalism, expert commentary and other contributions from some of the top minds in environmental issues around the world. We also publish through a Creative Commons model, allowing our stories and commentary to be republished throughout the world, extending the information and ideas that we present to an ever-growing and ever-evolving audience. Extinction Countdown was the world's first news service devoted entirely to the protection of endangered species. Originally published by myself, the column moved to Plenty Magazine, then ran for many years at Scientific American. Today it has been incorporated into The Revelator, the environmental news site that I edit, which distributes the column to reprint clients worldwide.

I was proud to be serve my community as president of the Boothbay Region Lions Club. It's a great club which has done a lot for this community in Maine since it was founded in 1953. We raised thousands of dollars to benefit a wide range of causes during my tenure. I have since moved to another coast, but the cause remains close to my heart.

In this latter role, I lead a diverse team of staff and freelance writers to present the latest and greatest in IEEE's core technical fields to our dedicated readers.My wide and varied roles also included publicizing IP to corporate and academic markets, promoting worldwide usage of products and services, and creating a fertile ground for revenue. I also provided creative direction for all ads, print materials, multimedia, press releases, web development, direct email, and related marketing communications projects.
