Menard Oceania (formerly Menard Bachy) part of the Freyssinet group specialises in ground engineering, mainly design and construct of soft ground stabilisation solutions to the civil engineering and building sectors. Some techniques have an application in the environmental space to remediate contaminated soils or in the creation of in-ground barriers to protect against, or reroute, contaminated groundwater. My business development role was to increase Menard Oceania's presence in the environmental space such that the company's solutions would be considered by consultants and main contractors as a legitimate approach to highly challenging environmental problems. This involved attending multiple environmental industry forums, conducting presentations at both industry events and to individual potential clients, whilst managing the development of potential solutions to identified problems.I looked at many problem sites around the country, particularly multiple former gasworks sites including Kendall Bay in Sydney, PFAS affected sites (Williamtown RAAF base, Brisbane airport, various former fire ground sites), and other sites prone to contamination in the mining, defence and private sectors.Menard is a global operator and has played an integral role on many recognised projects in Australia, including foundation and remediation works for the Barangaroo site in Sydney, and ground stabilisation for the new Perth stadium.
