Working in KPs National Program Offices, the Care Management Institute leads efforts to improve care delivery and experience in key initiatives important to KPs members. My role is in supporting efforts to implement innovations in Palliative Care and Life Care Planning.

Direct the administration of $5M grant from the Veterans Administration for rapid re-housing of homeless veterans and preventing return to homelessness across three counties in the Bay Area.

• Having completed a practicum for a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with this organization that provides supportive housing to once-homeless veterans, was offered a position of senior counselor and within a year.
• Coached and supervised four staff that provide case management and counseling services.
• Liaised with Property Management staff as advocate for residents who are at risk of returning to homelessness.
• Improved efficiency and consistency among a range of administrative processes.
• Managed day-to-day office administration.
• Liaised with physicians and counselors at the Veterans Administration who provide a range of medical, psychiatric and counseling services for the residents.

• As member of the Senior Staff, responsibilities included management of human resource processes, department communications and office facilities.
• Managed annual event hiring of more than 400 individuals.
• Managed internal communications to thirty departments comprising more than 1500 volunteers.
• Oversaw incident reporting at event for purposes of worker compensation.

• Oversaw and streamlined annual transport of material from San Francisco to Nevada.

• As member of the KFH Management Consulting Department, led cross entity senior executive committee chartered to reduce the current $100M Operating Room Supplies budget by 14% and hold budget growth to less then 5% from.
• Facilitated monthly executive briefing.
• Reorganized committee structure to more effectively target cost saving initiatives.
• Led largest team of management consultants in department who were researching, analyzing and defining best practices in Operating Room Management.
• Provided consulting support to OR managers throughout Northern California Region.
• Oversaw research of best practices in Operation Room operations.

• As a member of the firm’s Information Technology (IT) Strategy Practice, managed projects and led project teams to design new IT Organization Structures and IT Governance & Program Management Frameworks. The following.
• Assessed IT organization and developed baseline point of view across twenty separate business units, comprising more than 3000 IT staff.
• Conducted CIO validation workshops and obtained sign-off of IT Organization baseline. The approved and agreed to baseline formed the basis for benefits realization.
• Developed framework to manage rationalization of more than 400 unique information systems.
• Led client teams through the design of core Program Management Office (PMO) processes including project selection and management, resource allocation and issue resolution
• Facilitated senior management through the politically charged landscape of defining IT governance roles, accountabilities and responsibilities.

Greater Salt Lake City Area

• The nations’ first employee benefits management company to focus on the administration and evaluation of health maintenance organizations (HMO).
• Responsible for evaluating and facilitating nationwide selection of HMOs for multi-site, Fortune 500 corporations.
• Led turnaround effort on project to select Medicare Risk HMOs to be endorsed by American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).

• Performed operational analyses, process improvement and organizational development efforts within medical center departments.
• Provided support to 18 outpatient departments charged with providing care on demand to more than 500,000 members by modifying medical center physician scheduling and patient appointment applications and redesigning.
