With over 20 years of experience working in arts and entertainment, 15 of them capturing emotions and cinematic moments on camera, John brings expertise and professionalism to every shoot: from narrative and non-scripted across all media like film, television, commercials or client work. As a cameraman he's been a part of productions big and small, from Disney (Ms. Marvel), Netflix (The Curse Of Bridge Hollow) and HBO (The Staircase, Hard Knocks) to micro-budget indies (Star Trek: First Frontier, More Than A Game) and everywhere in between. He's also had the good fortune to work with major brands like Coca-Cola, Home Depot, and Volkswagen as well as lower-budget local businesses and non-profits like the United Way and the Boys and Girls Club of America. Aside from being directly behind the camera; John produced the award winning feature "Poe's Mystery Theater" and as a screenwriter he is often employed as a story editor: offering valuable feedback. His passion for storytelling and capturing emotional moments in artistic ways has touched many genres and mediums. He loves collaboration and sees every setback as an opportunity to problem solve and learn.Outside of working on sets John is the founder of the 20/21 Project: an artist retreat focused on healing the traumas of 2020 and 2021 through creative expression. He is also the creator and host of "The Bionic Frankenplot" storytelling podcast and a contributor the now defunct websites CInemATL.com and Doobius.com, as well as a contender for the Atlanta chapter of Write Club. Weird quirks include way too much knowledge of Shakespeare and the film Back To The Future and strong opinions about story structure. Form is function, after all.As a Director of Photography, John was responsible not just for the look of the productions he has shot, but also the head of the crew, interfacing with multiple departments within the production to achieve daily goals in a timely and cost effective manner. As a Producer and Filmmaker, John's role expanded to shepherding entire productions from the germination/blue sky phase, through scripting and pre-production all the way to distribution. He is adept at putting together and leading teams of people to accomplish the sometimes seemingly impossible tasks required of production with out-of-the-box thinking and quick solutions.
