Started working at HBO in February 2017. AT&T acquired Home Box Office (HBO). Employer officially changed from HBO to WarnerMedia around March 2021. During this time my role title transitioned to Manager, Quality Assurance Engineering.Noteworthy experience: - Orchestrated defining the entire org structure for QA Engineering. Inspired heavily by industry standards for software engineering here http://www.engineeringladders.com/ . This helped me and my peer managers establish a baseline for career growth, including hiring and promotion assessment. - Working to elevate HBOMAX OTT product quality across various supported platforms (see link below). Worked with an industry cutting edge proprietary Selenium and Appium testing framework to deliver on-device automation to serve as a native supplement to manual QA validation for regression scenarios. This framework leverages Browserstack and device farms to facilitate a replacement to analyst validation so their focus can be spent on more complex user journey validation. This framework is orchestrated via Jenkins jobs that run on a regular cadence to gauge product health. Defects are automatically reported to Jira where they get triaged to subject matter experts for diagnosis during defect resolution. The tests are behavior driven development inspired, permitted human readability. These BDD statements are parsed and translated into platform specific native functionality to drive the automated user(s). - Supporting engineer growth by establishing growth targets that combine passion with quarterly business targets. - Facilitating a positive culture via work-life balance, diversity, accountability and equal opportunity. - Etc.Please reach out to me or see below for additional responsibilities as my role grew over time since starting in 2017.

The scope of this role included the same responsibilities as my individual contributor role beforehand, plus added responsibilities around leading and managing members of the talented QA Engineering organization. This role included, but was not limited to, the follow:- Worked closely with individuals on a regular cadence to:- Ensure individual contributing engineers had the tools to succeed. - Ensured engineers were not blocked from delivering the goals we set out to achieve personally and as a OTT business.- Formed business oriented goals which aligned with career aspirations.- Work with other QA managers to facilitate elevated degrees of quality. This included process, culture and product quality. - Established code standards & best practices. I led by example by documenting and presenting the information in a brown bag setting. - Helped support leading a remote SDET team in China.

Paved my own path and discovered my own work through relationship building and product awareness throughout the development lifecycle. - Responsible for authoring both client and service integration tests that served as hard gates to front-end and back-end developer check-in.- Embedded on cross discipline Feature Delivery Team responsible for features such as My List and Continue Watching.- Designed, authored and maintained service integration automation coverage. Jasmine test framework https://jasmine.github.io/. Coverage ran against a Staging environment pre-release to production. Failures resulted in reverting changes to ensure customer satisfaction.- Designed, authored and maintained client integration automation coverage. Proprietary Javascript codebase. On-Call like support for troubleshooting failures to ensure developers were not blocked or impeded. Verification scenarios were constructed using a series of promise chains to achieve target validation. Unique metadata defined key elements including but not limited to determining scope of platform support. Failures prevented buick-in build success which was a hard github pull request requirement within the shared team repository. - Game of Thrones - Season 8 - Final season preparation - Mega load testing. Worked with 3rd party company, Apica https://www.apica.io/zebratester-advanced-scripting/ , and their tool Zebra Tester to ensure our back-end micro service stack could handle our anticipated viewer load. At this time this was the largest event on our system. The final season and each episode premiered seamlessly.

As briefly outlined in my summary above, since April 22, 2016 I have been working as a software developer engineer in test on Minecraft. More specifically, I work on the Minecraft Pocket Edition test engineering team as a vendor for Microsoft. Together we collaborate with the development and manual test teams to help drive and keep a high level of quality for the next generation of Minecraft.We have many roles on the test engineering team, including:- Developing/designing platform agnostic tools to facilitate manual test and developer needs. These tools are written to work with all target platforms (C#, PowerShell, Android Debug Bridge, etc.).- Writing automation to perform base verification tests on specific build definitions (NUNIT, C#, PowerShell, Visual Studio Online, etc.). This ensures a baseline of quality before manual test efforts step in to sign off on any given build across platforms. Adding needed automation hooks involves modifying source test scripts (C++). - Maintaining cross platform labs for automation needs.

Currently (since 10/22/2015), I am a Software Test Engineer at Microsoft (contracted via Experis), working on the HoloLens. My roles include: Implementing tool features (C#, MSDOS bat), validating new platform builds before experience adoption, providing organization-wide status reports on OS build quality, facilitating team communication, writing test cases to verify new features, documenting internal guidelines, providing help with platform/ development/ testing/ hardware questions, and paving the best test practices for new hardware iterations.

Vendor STE @ Microsoft. My responsibilities include running base verification tests on a closed-door project.

Lead QA Tester on the flagship XBOX ONE title, Forza Motorsport 5. I was a key contributor in helping facilitate the communication between Turn10 and the Microsoft test team. I also helped develop several tools which are used by testers daily to optimize the testing workflow.
