Twende (www.twende-tanzania.org) empowers people to design and make their own technologies to solve community challenges in Tanzania. • Responsible for providing professional support and HR-related services to Twende operations, programs and staff.•Ensuring that the HR policies and practices enable Twende to work in an effective, efficient and consistent manner.

As Board Chair of Kyaro Assistive Tech, a social enterprise dedicated to making appropriate assistive devices accessible in Africa, I provide strategic leadership and oversight to both the non-profit and for-profit arms of the organization. I collaborate with the Executive Director, co-founders and fellow board members to establish organizational goals, ensure financial sustainability, and drive our mission of empowering individuals with disabilities through access to high-quality, affordable assistive technology.

Selected as an African Visionary Fellow by the Segal Family Foundation, I participated in a two-year program designed to empower African leaders to drive sustainable change. Through workshops, coaching, and networking opportunities, I gained valuable skills in leadership, fundraising, and organizational development. I collaborated with other fellows to tackle shared challenges and leverage our collective strengths. As a result of the fellowship, I was able to secure additional funding and resources for Twende leading to a significant increase in our impact.

I provided leadership and management for a team of 4 Area Directors, guiding them in overseeing the growth and development of 13 clubs spanning across Tanzania and Coastal Kenya, ultimately expanding the total to 15 clubs.I crafted and executed strategies aimed at boosting membership, yielding a substantial rise in both club renewals and the establishment of new club charters.Our collective efforts culminated in the attainment of the prestigious President's Distinguished Division Status

As the area director who oversaw 4 clubs (Arusha, Mount Meru, Kilimanjaro, and Tanzanite Toastmasters Clubs), I served as the direct liaison between the District and the clubs.I visited each club twice a year to observe meetings and to help track the clubs' progress in the Distinguished Club Program.I was responsible for fostering membership and club growth in the area by supporting clubs in creating awareness about Toastmasters and the value it brought.I ensured that all programs were run to the utmost quality in a manner that led to the development of leaders into competent leaders and effective communicators. One notable achievement was the chartering of 1 new club, Tanzanite Toastmasters Club.

• Established a sound reporting system and structure that enabled smooth communication, reporting and feedback• Created and implemented an excellent performance evaluation system that enabled supervisors to easily highlight achievements, improvements and areas of growth among their subordinates • Recruited the best teaching staff for the secondary school that led to an academic excellence of only Division 1 and 2 in the first secondary examination• Facilitated different on-job training programs that led to success in computer systems, team work, work ethic and excellent employee relations •Retained 91% of employees with only 9% of turnover
