Worked closely with the CDC NCCDPHP leadership to provide greater support to State Chronic Disease Directors and their prevention programs

Responsible for re-organizing the foundation while raising charitable revenue for the Grady Health System. Responsibilities included: management of staff, management of foundation assets, policy development, board development, major gifts, grant writing, capital campaigns, public relations, and strategic planning.Accomplishments• Raised $2.5 million annually for the organization through direct mail, major gifts, personal solicitation, foundation and corporate grants, special events and grant writing.

Reporting directly to the President of the ILSI, Center for Health Promotion: responsibilities include strategic planning, research and evaluation of grants and volunteer initiatives, board development, implementing and directing programs for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of individual, corporate and foundation gifts. Accomplishments• Submission of grant proposals, securing over $5 million in funding for the organization• Organized the development office with a strategic plan and prepared the organization institutionally to receive funding from foundations, corporations, individuals and bequests.• Prepared an outcomes oriented process by which funding was leveraged by a variety of sources to reach mutually beneficial outcomes.

Administered the State Rural Health Program and set rural health policy for Georgia. Performed on-site regional planning and grant development; provided community development assistance to organizations statewide; educated the Georgia and National legislature and consumer groups on issues facing rural areas.• Secured $1.2 Million Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Grant for rural initiatives• Obtained $6 Million annually in HRSA Grants for rural communities
