Fenwick is a luxury department store chain with 9 stores in England. As Head of IT Architecture, I was responsible for the group's IT Architecture, IT Roadmap and Transition State Architectures, making sure these accurately reflected the as-is and to-be states, supporting a successful transition from nine separate operating units into a single group. I provided architecture governance, scope definition, technical design and oversight and supplier management enabling the IT team to:• Completely refresh the WAN and LAN to a much higher capacity, resilient, fully serviced, solution. • Deliver corporate, colleague and customer Wi-Fi across the estate.• Facilitate the move to online trading including integrating information flows between cloud hosted (Dynamics 365) and on-premise solutions. • Deliver a Modern Workplace environment to 3,000 users. This included • Office 365, Teams and Yammer • Video and audio-conferencing solutions saving at least £70k per annum.• Print estate refresh, saving £400k over 5 years and consolidating dozens of different agreements with different suppliers into one.• Initiate a datacentre migration from on-premise to Azure for all business applications

North Tyneside Council (NTC) outsourced their IT Services provision to Engie; I worked on-site at NTC as the Solution Architect dedicated to that account.As the Solution Architect at North Tyneside Council, I contributed to the technical strategy for the Council and brought that vision into reality across numerous projects • O365 Migration. I took the technical lead in designing, planning and initiating a migration to Office 365, including a significant migration of file storage from on-premise file storage onto SharePoint. • Community Health Integration: I successfully facilitated the complicated technical connectivity and integration needed to transfer the Community Health Visiting Team from the NHS to the Council.• Social Care System: I provided technical governance during the implementation of a Social Care case management system, defining and implementing secure and resilient connectivity to the 3rd party hosted service. I also responded to many change requests, defining solutions for everything from desktop and network infrastructure to BI software solutions and data centre strategies.

Working as a consultant at G4S Utilities Services, I worked on a variety of projects as Business Analyst, Architect and Project Manager/Scrum Master. • I evaluated and made recommendations on a ~£1m replacement to G4S’ mobile work management solution to support their existing and future business requirements • I managed the agile development of an in-house mobile app, leading it through a succession of sprints to bring down a significant product backlog and defining a clear product roadmap.

Last role at BT was as Solution Architect delivering services to NHS24. This is a ten year project to completely refresh the IT infrastructure used by NHS24, including LAN, WAN, Data Centre hosting, telephony and a hosted SAP application (being delivered by a third party); the total value of this is approximately £60m. My previous project was implementing a shared IT Service Management solution for five of our local government contracts. Implementation cost over £1m but this compares favourably with estimated costs of £800k each for separate implementations. I was the solution architect, liaising with the hosting partner organisation and with technical resource in each of the separate partner organisations to ensure successful implementation as well as connectivity and integration across the BT MPLS wide area network.

I designed and developed a Radiotherapy Booking System using a VB front end to a proprietary MUMPS back end database using client server technology.This is still in use (after continued maintenance and development).

The Read Codes for clinical coding were developed at the Centre For Coding and Classification.Training and Technical support for local and remote users, providing face to face and telephone problem resolution, Supporting, Maintaining and Implementing new infrastructure Developing Visual Basic for Applications macros for clinical specialists to use, with supporting documentationDeveloping (using Visual Basic) tools to manipulate the database and its contents.

I developed a production tracking system using Office Automation in Excel and barcoded labels. This provided production management and reporting as well as tracking.
