While Solar Richmond created an installation company (worker-owned co-operative), John worked with the CEO and the board to create and fund a for-profit finance organization out of the non-profit. John also built a multimillion dollar pipeline for solar projects for the installation company while training workers to run the company.

Accept's Cloud Solution for managing product development features and requirements led the software industry in the 2000's with over 100 different clients including industry leaders Mentor, Symantec, Cadence, Intuit, Fidelity and Nokia. John managed sales operations and western region sales consulting. During John's time, the average deal size increased tenfold, revenues fivefold while the sales staff tripled before the company's acquisition.

One Share of Stock's unique business model allowed, with SEC approval, the company to create an equity gift. John joined the company to expand the offerings and to create a FINRA-registered broker/dealer as a subsidiary. John developed legal and administrative structures to operate the organization, created market analyses and engaged in partner development to provide channels for the gift product. John engaged with multiple law firms, B/D consulting groups and industry associations. In 5 years at Allegis/Click Commerce, John worked in engineering, marketing and sales. During his time as engineering manager, John worked closely with the execs and the founders to help grow the team from 6 to 35 engineers while maintaining rapid prototyping, pair/extreme programming and other disciplines to consistently improve the usefulness and marketability of the enterprise software product. John also created technical marketing for the company, drove product transitions through the product management process while keeping the company focused on customer-centric development. John managed key accounts from both product management and sales.

John joined SGI as a product manager in charge of networking. John later brought to market the company's highest volume product, the O2 workstation managing a product with a $500M annual run rate. John worked for the executive staff developing new product business models and co-ordinating major partnerships with companies such as Microsoft, Intel, nVidia, and Lockheed-Martin.
