John Sheridan is a retired CEO, currently engaged in Corporate Board, Community & Charity roles. He has broad operating experience and extensive board governance experience. He led companies in 3 different sectors (Energy Technology, Telecoms and Media), as President & CEO of Ballard Power Systems, President & COO of Bell Canada and President & CEO of Encom plc in the UK. He has served on numerous corporate boards in Canada, the UK and the USA, as both Director and Chair. In addition to his Corporate roles, he has served as Chair of several community and industry organizations, including the Southeastern Ontario Academic Medical Organization, the UK Cable Communications Association, the Canadian Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Association and the United Way of Greater Toronto. He has been an active supporter of Canadian Universities, having served on the Board of Governors of Toronto Metropolitan University and the Advisory Boards of Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Northern BC and as a Lecturer in Economics at Carleton University.
