Skills that were acquired in these roles were working with union agreements, departmental budgeting, various reporting duties, and inventory management. It was common in these roles to have to manage Worker Compensation Cases for injured workers. In the current role of Safety Advisor, the duties that I am responsible for are managing crew training, incident investigation and reporting, developing corrective actions, and reviewing safety policies and procedures with the work crew.I am currently enrolled at the University of New Brunswick in the Occupational Health and Safety certificate program. I am actively completing these courses to achieve the designation of Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) with the Board of Canadian Professional Safety Professionals. This goal will allow me to expand my knowledge base and become a better asset to the company I am working for.
