As the Director of Exhibit Engagement, my focus is to develop and nurture networks between gallery educators and other staff members that promote visitor learning experiences through exhibit activities, programming, teamwork, and coordinated efforts. I hire, train, and lead a team of gallery educators (15+) and ensure that all gallery facilitation staff receive appropriate content training. I help provide ongoing development opportunities and support for staff with an emphasis on continual engagement with informal education and museum best practices, scientific knowledge, safe behaviors for learners, and operational efficiency practices.Additionally, I prepare and facilitate the development and implementation of staff workplans, and provides regular 1-on-1s, check-ins, regular team meetings, and performance reviews. I assist the Development team in funding proposals, manage expenditures, and maintain all program budgets.

As the Science Education Manager at Children's Museum Houston, I spearhead the development and execution of innovative, inquiry-based STEM programs that enrich the educational experiences of our young visitors. Leading a dedicated team, I've implemented strategies that foster engagement, curiosity, and learning, including the successful management of projects such as Picnic Science, EcoStation, and Science Station. My role involves extensive collaboration with local schools to tailor programs that complement classroom learning, alongside the effective management of program budgets and the creation of digital educational content to extend our reach beyond the museum walls.

In my role as a Science Educator at Children’s Museum Houston, I developed and delivered engaging science demonstrations and activities that promoted STEM literacy among children. My commitment to creating hands-on learning experiences played a crucial part in inspiring the next generation of scientists and thinkers. This position allowed me to utilize my expertise in science communication to make complex concepts accessible and exciting for a young audience.

As the Floor Program Coordinator at Adventure Science Center, I was responsible for researching, developing, and implementing interactive STEM activities and demonstrations that captivated visitors of all ages. I supervised and trained floor staff to enhance visitor engagement and ensured that each guest had a memorable and educational experience. My efforts contributed significantly to the center's mission of making science accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

As an Automation Engineer at the EPA's National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory, I managed online vehicle certification data and led a significant webpage redesign project, enhancing public access to critical data. My role involved providing exceptional customer service by developing customized Excel macros for internal and external clients, contributing to the efficient management and dissemination of vehicle emissions data.

In this role, I was instrumental in managing the availability and integrity of the Center for Computational Toxicology's databases. I ensured seamless database access, supported users with software installation and training, and developed my technical skills in SQL, Python, and the Atlassian Suite, thereby enhancing the center's research capabilities in computational toxicology.

My thesis work and the additional research opportunities provided throughout graduate school have utilized and enhanced my technical (i.e. Matlab, SPSS) and communication (i.e. Teaching Assistantships, Ocean Sciences Conference) skills. These research projects are further described below:THESIS RESEARCH► Utilized three-dimensional model data and satellite-derived measurements to assess the biological response to short-term wind events within the surface waters of the CCS► Applied mathematical techniques such as Fast Fourier transform and cross-correlation to conduct the analytical assessmentADDITIONAL RESEARCH PROJECTS► Evaluated the effectiveness of Introductory Marine Science courses in conveying common climate change topics to majors and non-majors► Administered a multiple-choice questionnaire as a tool to assess student pre- and post-knowledge of climate change► Analyzed global sea surface salinity (SSS) distribution by quantifying the seasonal/annual salt and freshwater fluxes► Conducted statistical comparisons between various SSS datasets such as Aquarius, SMOS, Argo floats, and HYCOM

Completed a semester-long course at the National Weather Service to develop an understanding of operational weather forecasting. While working alongside senior forecasters, I gained valuable experience in several facets of weather forecasting.

Researched the Advanced Objective Dvorak Technique (AODT), created a project to assess the effectiveness of the transition from NAWIPS AODT tool to AWIPS II AODT tool, and developed numerous databases to assess the performance of meteorological forecasting software such as NSHARP, BigNSharp, and CAVE.
