I am a software developer. I am a developer who loves to code, I love the creativity involved in thinking of a new solution to a problem, I love the deep research required to understand and utilize other people’s code and libraries . When looking at good code, its like a piece of art, and a puzzle at once. It drives me to stay up late at night studying, and wake "early" every morning excited for my work. I have always loved to tinker, from before I can remember and into the present. In college I studied and took courses in mechanical and electrical engineering as well as computer engineering, and was very active in robotics, leading several competitive projects in AUVSI and leading as an officer and then President of the club for 3 years. My goal is to master my trade, to create clever but useful solutions for problems that haven’t been solved yet, to have them rigorously tested and trusted. And to overall have an important impact wherever I contribute.

Senior Software Engineer
Senior Cloud Engineer
In the Labor Systems Platform team of Disney, I have led multiple responsibilities from the design and prototype phase to its sustainment phase. Throughout, managing and mentoring small teams of developers while creating the platform back-end for 23+ API integrations of a large middleware project focused on scheduling and pay. Working primarily in Java11, with newer projects in GoLang in Google Cloud Platform's App Engine I have created an ecosystem of libraries, framework, and processes that our team depends on, and that outperforms Spring, while providing specific and consistent functionality across our platform. My daily activities are split between design, direct software development, and team leadership.
Associate Software Developer
As a contractor at Walt Disney World, Attractions Technology in Studio Asgard, team Shield and team Felix as a software developer, I created tests and frameworks to aid and assist SDET teams. While at Disney on a 6 month contract I created unit, product validation, integration, and end-to-end tests for internal and external API and business logic. jUnit and Serenity were the primary tools used to create the tests and reports which were used company wide to quickly and accurately identify and pinpoint failures in production and lower level environments. As a way to diagnose issues before the automated tests were created, I used Splunk to identify key areas to focus tests on, and pinpoint failure conditions. Throughout my time at Disney I constantly improved our code base and implemented new and useful features for the team to use on times when projects were blocked by lower environments including implementing an automated WireMock system that would automatically detect if an environment was down, and switch to mocked responses while debugging tests to reduce blocked time team wide. This was adopted and presented to several teams with positive support. In Scrum meetings I was able to properly convey and describe my progress, blockers, and effectively help team members when they were blocked where I was relevant. I was largely considered a resource to ask and solve questions and issues with Java and frequented by members of multiple teams for advice. Moving forward, my experience and hand-in-hand work with SDET teams has provided me with a larger perspective on production grade software, and has taught me the complete SDLC picture, and moving forward as a developer I can properly plan and design my software to both be elegant and efficient, but also simpler to test and document.
Software Development Intern
At MVW as an intern on the Application Design team I worked closely with my team to create Spring Boot based applications, maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and generate technical documentation for internal use. During my work there in the Application Design Team I lead my own project to completely rewrite an error handling program that automatically cleaned up common errors in internal queues and databases from architecture, design, code, testing, and documentation. This was said to greatly improve efficiency and reduce costs, as well as the increase in the readability of the code to help future maintenance.
Undergraduate Research Assistant
While working for the Center of Microgravity Research I designed and built the power supply board for a 2U cube satellite SurfSat that launched to Low Earth Orbit on September 15, 2018. The board uses multiple double redundant voltage regulators to balance load to the various computers and sensors on the satellite. SurfSat's mission, a joint project between NASA and UCF CMR as part of the ELaNa program accomplishes two experiments while in space for surface charges on various substrates as well as accurately measuring ESD events while in LEO compared to Earth measurements.
Sigsent Senior Design
As my Senior Design project I developed the idea of an autonomous multi-locomotive robot that could efficiently traverse both rough and smooth terrain. With the great help of our 4 member team we were able to design, build, and test a functioning robot that was purposed as a guard/sentinel autonomous robot that could patrol a GPS waypoint path and alert a human upon discovery of an intruder - allowing the controller to two way communicate to an intruder via, also included in the robot was a powerful light for night patrol as well as for stunning an intruder when in strobe mode. The robot was equipped with a daytime 2d lidar, gps, imu, camera, microphone, and powerful light as its sensors. high level autonomy was performed using ROS on a Raspberry Pi 3 and with low level functions running on Arduino RTOS. I was responsible for autonomous navigation and way point following using an A* Path replanner, GPS and IMU sensor integration using an unscented Kalman Filter, the ROS backbone and overall design of the electrical and software architecture including 3 custom circuit boards consisting of a fuel gauge, imu, and custom arduino mega. To allow for better parallelization of work I also created a test platform for sigsent using a TutleBot 2 borrowed from the Robotics Club at UCF to work as a testbed for developing the higher level autonomy functions of the robot while the actual SigSent platform was being developed.
Ness Team Captain
As team Captain of Ness, UCF's entries into the 2015-2017 AUVSI RoboSub international autonomous submarine robotics competition I lead a group of ~10 team members over 4 years to plan, design, build, and test a complicated autonomous robot. I created several unique contributions in mechanical and electrical areas such as a large (8-9") coupling device that allows the submarine to be split into 4-5 discrete sections that each had its own semi-independent role within the competition. Equally I designed and created the electrical system To transport power and data throughout the sub efficiently with a focus on reducing human-error. Throughout the project I raised, managed and balanced funding for materials and the cost of the competition and travel.

As President of the Robotics Club I've put all of my passion into making robotics and improving the world through them. As President I oversee the club, manage meetings, create sponsorship partners, solve social problems, set-up events, and distribute workflow among other tasks.
