House Committee on Education and LaborI served as the primary policy authority on pivotal labor and employment laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act and National Labor Relations Act, for a congressional committee focused on safeguarding and advancing educational and employment opportunities. My work resulted in successful advocacy campaigns on legislation related to the classification of workers as employees or independent contractors, the process for employees opting in or out of union representation, and wage and hour requirements in the workplace. During my time with the committee, I developed enduring partnerships and policy coalitions with key stakeholders across diverse sectors, including governmental bodies such as the U.S. Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board, as well as private sector businesses, trade associations, lobbyists, and think tanks.

Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02)As the highest-ranking legislative staffer for a freshman member of Congress serving on key committees including House Budget, Small Business, and Foreign Affairs, I spearheaded the development and execution of strategic policy initiatives amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. By professionalizing office operations and procedures, I established a solid foundation for the office’s development and growth, while recruiting and mentoring a dynamic team of four direct reports. Through proactive engagement and relationship cultivation, I facilitated the member's placement on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and amplified the visibility of his legislative agenda.

Representative Phil Roe, M.D. (TN-01)As a Senior Legislative Assistant for Congressman Phil Roe, I played a pivotal role in shaping the legislative agenda of a six-term member of Congress and committee chairman. Rising through the legislative ranks from Staff Assistant to Senior Legislative Assistant, I orchestrated bipartisan coalitions to champion legislative initiatives, resulting in the successful passage of multiple bills into law. These efforts resulted in a law to provide additional respiratory protections for children in school, as well as the creation and approval of a monument honoring veterans of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in a prominent location on the National Mall. Leveraging my expertise in workforce development and employment policy, I secured committee hearings and garnered majority conference support for pro-growth legislative reforms. Additionally, I cultivated strategic relationships with stakeholders, representing the Congressman in meetings with local and national leaders to advocate for constituent interests and shape federal legislative priorities.
