Director, Trauma System Planning And ImplementationGeorgia Trauma Commission Oct 2011 - Apr 2015Responsible for coordinating with both state and local government agencies to create a State Trauma Plan. Created from scratch and staffed the Georgia Trauma Communications Center, a first of its kind state communications center responsible for tracking service line availability at all of the state's trauma centers and over 100 other local hospitals. Worked with statewide Fire and EMS agencies to ensure real time, on-scene communication capability with the Communications Center for the purpose of allowing EMS to access the current status of trauma center availability. Worked with local government agencies and emergency managers, Department of Public Heath, GEMA, and FEMA to ensure the integration of the Communications Center into local and statewide emergency response plans and training. Responsible for the budgetary oversight of the Communications Center and 12 full time personnel. As part of the creation of the State Trauma Plan, coordinated with the 10 state EMS regions which included local government agencies and hospital leadership to create and fund 10 coordinating Regional Trauma Advisory Committees. Developed contract measurables with each region as part of the funding for regional trauma related planning and activities. Worked with leadership from each Regional Trauma Advisory Committee to create 10 regional trauma plans. Coordinated the integration of each regional trauma plan into an all-inclusive State Trauma Plan. Responsible for budgetary oversight of plan development and implementation activities and quarterly reporting to appointed State of Georgia Commissioners for all activities along with annual reporting to representatives from the state House of Representative and Senate. Also provided Annual Budget and Activities Report to the Governor’s Office of Budget and Planning.
