    Purchased a 17 acre farm on the Niagara River Parkway with a 12,000 sq ft home built in the1860’s that was not occupied for 10 years. Completely transformed the building into a 21 room Historic Inn with a 4 Diamond AAA/CAA designation. The 12 acre farm was transformed from unproductive plot of land into a productive vineyard with 5 varieties of grapes which produced award winning wine. We received the 2008 Niagara Regional Adaptive Reuse Award for bringing this property back to life.

    Designed, developed and and acted as the general contractor for the construction of the the JPW Gateway Travel Centre on 5.2 acres of vacant land adjacent to the QEW Highway, at the entrance to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Successfully negotiated twenty year leases with Sunoco Gas Bar, a Convenience Store, 12,000 square foot Food Court with Tim Horton’s, Wendy’s, Pizza Pizza, Mr. Sub, New York Fries, a Gift Store, an Arcade, and a drive-thruATM Cash Machine.

    As general manager I was responsible for all hotel operations including: staffing, group sales, food and beverage, housekeeping systems, maintenance, laundry and health club operations. The skill sets I devloped include: planning, pricing, marketing, advertising, monthly and yearly sales projections and budgeting of all departments. When we purchased the Prince of Wales Hotel in 1975 it had 16 rooms and we transformed it into a 106 room Conference and Convention Centre with a state of the art Health Club, and a 4 Diamond CAA/AAA designation.
