After almost two decades of a very blessed career in some of the best advertising agencies in India and Singapore, I set up BLKJ with three of the most talented people in the business. And in early 2021, right in the middle of a pandemic, we chose to become part of the Havas Group to give ourselves and the folks who work with us an opportunity to flex our creative muscles on a global stage. We are privileged to work with the wonderful people at Great Eastern, Amazon, Ninjavan, Singapore Tourism Board, the Republic of Singapore Air Force, Economic Development Board, Reckitt Benckiser, IMDA, Hyundai, and MediaCorp. Our aim is simple. Do the best work possible with the best people for the best brands. We set out to build an agency that is honest, humane, and hardworking. And it seems to be working, even if I say so myself. I also have the privilege of being a member of Havas’s Global Creative Council, and of chairing the APAC Creative Council.

Group Executive Creative DirectorDdb May 2009 - Jan 2017SingaporeAs Group Executive Creative Director, I was responsible for the creative functions of DDB, Tribal DDB and RAPP. That meant making sure that about 140 young creatives showed up five and sometimes six days a week, did their best for our clients and stayed motivated and happy enough to return the next day. I was very ably assisted in all this by my eight creative directors. The fairly long list of the Group’s clients was roughly divided between the Chief Creative Officer and I. During my time there, we were the most awarded Singaporean agency at both the creative and effectiveness awards. And thanks to the talent and hard work of my colleagues, I was voted Campaign’s Creative Person of the Year two years in a row. I was also lucky enough to be made Cannes Lions Print and Publishing Jury President in 2015. -
