Credit Assessor
CurrentAs a credit assessor, my role is to provide support to the consumer mortgage sales process for applications received from Mortgage Brokers. My key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Assess the viability of the application from the information provided by the Mortgage Broker- Maximise the number of applications approved by analysing each application and providing structured advice for those applications that may be outside the basic lending structure- Review Tax Returns and other documentation to assess the financial position of Self-Employed applicants, e.g. Sole Traders, Companies, Trusts and applications involving multiple entities.- Complete application & communicate outcome/recommendations to broker- In cases where the system indicates a valuation is required, the team member must apply their judgement (using credit guidelines) to assess the type of valuation which will be acceptable i.e. Restricted Assessment, Australian Property Monitors or Residential Property valuation by licensed valuer. - Applications outside credit guidelines and referred to Mortgage Credit Officers with justifiable supporting facts- Develop and maintain positive relationships, building trust and confidence with the Mortgage Brokers by understanding their needs and by providing sound advice to maintain trust, confidence and repeat business- Assess all applications with accuracy and quality to ensure joint service standards are met, identify and provide findings via Feedback Tool.- Applying knowledge of Westpac & RRB Group products, packages & credit rules, coach the Mortgage Brokers as required on structuring a loan- Adhere to audit and compliance requirements to prevent banks exposure to unacceptable risk- Troubleshooting any issues regarding the progress of the loan to ensure that customer experience is a seamless process.
