Building upon the vision and wisdom of the Illinois Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development (GOECD) (https://www2.illinois.gov/sites/OECD/EarlyLearningCouncil/Pages/default.aspx) and the strategic principles of the Collective Impact framework (https://www.collectiveimpactforum.org/what-collective-impact), I am delighted to serve as iGrow Lake County’s Community Systems Development (CSD) Manager. I bring a combined commitment to strategic coordination, co-investment, and capacity building within the sphere of early childhood systems, along with a commitment to supporting the Lake County Health Department’s role as Chief Health Strategist (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5508177/), deepening and broadening the multi-sector, multi-system strategic coordination which will be required in order to address the policies, systems, and environmental changes needed to improve the health and well-being of the people who live in our communities. Within the LCHD/CHC Health Informatics and Technology Team, I am grateful to serve in the role of Strategic Partnerships Manager. As a member of the Health Strategy Group, I will be facilitating the coordination of external partnerships for the distinct purpose of forwarding our strategy as a health department. In partnership with our Strategic Planning Analyst, I will continue supporting the Live Well Lake County network and our up-coming Community Health Improvement Plan.

In partnership with health department colleagues, to lead the Health Equity Team in coordinating and supporting efforts to advance local community policy and program agendas, including collaborating with community leaders, businesses, policy leaders, governments, non-profits, and others to move Lake County forward in addressing health inequities in our county and the communities of our county. Our team, our health department, and our county will actively participate together in addressing the root causes of health inequities through the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation process.

In his role within Child and Family Connections (Lake County Health Department) Jon focused on professional development, technical assistance and training, clinical consultation, and systems building. He also provided consultation to Early Intervention system stakeholders regarding issues pertinent to individual children and families. Jon has helped develop many policies and protocols in his work within the Illinois Early Intervention Leadership Team. Jon provided consultation to approximately 250 Service Providers within the Lake County Network. And he served as a leader/mentor within the Social-Emotional Consultant Network, with 24 other regional offices around the state.

Provided facilitative leadership to the MAPP Steering Committee in their role of guidance over the Lake County Community Health Assessment (CHA) process and subsequent analysis, prioritization, and the creation and implementation of the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). MAPP stands for Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships.

Consulting Specializations: Facilitating networking across multiple systems (locally, regionally, and nationally); Technical assistance, training, team building, and facilitating; Quality Improvement Facilitation; Professional development instruction and coaching.

Jon was the initial Executive Board Chairman of this 501(c)3 organization. Life Builders is a link between the USA and Nigeria, which provides HIV/AIDS Education and supports orphans and widows whose families have been impacted with the loss of a family member(s) due to HIV/AIDS. Since its inception, Life Builders has built a hospital and a school.
