Consultant Psychiatrist with a uniquely eclective high-level skill set.I qualified as a consultant with a specialism in medical psychotherapy. I spent 15 years working with personality disorder in settings ranging from secure inpatient through CAMHS to therapeutic community, in the NHS, independent, and charitable sectors.Some years back I stepped away from direct clinical work, focussing on the Mental Health Tribunal and DoLS assessments. As with so many other people, covid impactes on my work pattern and forced a change.I began locum work at Burton Park Neurobehavioural Unit, and was invited to apply for both the substantive post and the medical director role. With a new management team on site we have worked to bring the hospital out of special measures and back to business as a highly specilised rehabiliation unit for people presenting behavioural and physical challenges following brain injury.My core skills are the assessment of individual and group functioning, formulation of plans to maximise independance and recovery, and the facilitation of others to reach their maximum potential.
