• Team Lead for the UNIX Support group covering AIX, Solaris and Linux. Responsibilities include:• hardware acquisition• budgeting with management• assigning representation for projects• Change and Problem Management • detailing projects and scope to executive management for approval• conflict resolution • Technical resource for multi-division, multi-platform projects which include system design and scope of hardware, software, storage, backups, networking, disaster recovery and more.• Lead on a variety of projects, most recently an effort to create a standard platform to support future development as well as migrate existing applications off UNIX to x86 Enterprise Linux. • Use subject matter expertise to develop and provide IT business solutions to sponsors and leadership. • Proficient in solving complex technical problems involving multiple platforms.Expert using AIX on IBM Power hardware: • Fully redundant virtual LPAR (logical partition) environment using SAN Arrays. • HMC (Hardware Management Console) attached environment using a broad array of 64 bit IBM Power systems including Power5, 6 and 7 enterprise systems.• Operating System expertise progressing from 4.3.3 and 5L up to 6.• Third party software installation support of DB2v8 and 9, WAS (Websphere Application Server), WPS (Websphere Process Server), TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager) and others.
