CurrentJon Boggs' practice spans Bailey & Glasser's class action litigation, environmental and automotive defect groups. He is a partner in the firm's Charleston, West Virginia office. Early in his career, Jon did securities litigation with Skadden, Arps in Boston and then regulatory work with Shea & Gardner in D.C. More recently, he has been a key player on the science and technology committees in the Volkswagen and Fiat Chrysler Diesel MDLs.A native of Charleston, Jon returned to West Virginia to accept a post in state government as Commissioner of State Health Facilities, where he oversaw the operation of seven public hospitals and nursing homes. Mr. Boggs was Chairman of the Boards of Directors of both Huntington Hospital and Sharpe Hospital.Jon graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and concurrently earned a Master's degree in Public Policy from Harvard's JFK School of Government. He then served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable James L. Buckley, Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Jon was a Fulbright Scholar to the University of Barcelona, where he studied Spanish history and culture and also taught as a Visiting Professor in American Studies.Prior to law school, Mr. Boggs attended Wheaton College in Illinois, where he graduated summa cum laude and was Vice President of Student Government. He has also lectured as an adjunct professor at the West Virginia University School of Law. Recently, Jon and Dan Carder of WVU Engineering were keynote speakers on the intersection of science, environmental policy and ethics for the National Youth Science Foundation at the University of Charleston. Mr. Boggs is admitted to practice in West Virginia, Massachusetts, Florida, and the District of Columbia.
