Data & Insight Manager
My upgraded position plays an important role in the ongoing delivery of successful fundraising and alumnae engagement across the GDST network by enabling data/insight driven decision making, data strategy and resource allocation. Database Manager
The GDST is one of the 20 largest charities in the UK. I work in the Philanthropy and Alumnae Engagement Department, part of the wider Communications and Marketing team. I am responsible for managing the ongoing support for the thankQ database system as well as managing the continuous technical development, enhancement and maintenance of the CRM system(s) and related data transfer interfaces. I'm also responsible for Fundraising BI reporting, all general Database Management functions and the transfer of highly sensitive data between a variety of systems. I am currently working on a project to replace our incumbent CRM system and also introduce a web-based Alumnae Portal solution for our 70,000+ Alumnae.Responsibilities and achievements:- Leading a project to replace a thankQ database with a Microsoft Dynamics solution, ensuring that the new system is fit for purpose and links to a variety of disparate systems- Instrumental in the project lifecycle of GDST Life, a Portal created to allow our 70,000+ Alumnae to form their own social network and create a self-service group of mentors and mentees- Management of several technical projects for schools / Trust Office development- Managing a PECR consent capture exercise for 70,000+ student Alumnae- Produced a suite of BI reports using SQL and Microsoft Excel dashboards to show fundraising income, both generated and pledged from our donors, for a variety of different projects and income streams and generally streamline reporting processes- Created SQL Stored Procedures to automate manual tasks enabling the business to be more efficient- Project Managed Annual Fund donation drives for schools- Facilitating a bi-annual Gift Aid Declaration- Facilitating Wealth Screening activities- Line management of the Database Officer- Point of contact for membership bodies including IDPE, CASE, Fundraising Regulator- Transferring of data from a multi-school SIMS environment (25 locations) into CRM.

Senior Manager fulfilling the realisation of the 'Digital Plan' by implementing IT solutions, process change management and leveraging the company's full potential of their systems and employees. Responsibilities and achievements:- Project managed and implemented a large CRM system including the integration of disparate systems. I was responsible for the entire project from concept through to 'Go Live' including tendering, due diligence, vendor selection, technical contact, overall UAT and data migration. The implementation led to increased efficiency and cost savings due to streamlined business processes and the removal of redundant software. During the project I managed 7 people and reported directly to a Steering Group comprising of 4 Board Directors. - Implemented an online enrolment portal for new members and students. I created a full technical specification, requirements analysis and project plan for our developers and solely managed the project from concept to implementation. Following 'Go Live' our applications increased by over 60% which accounted for £150k of additional revenue in year 1.- Improved efficiency by creating and implementing CRM Workflows to automate manual tasks. This provided colleagues with more time to concentrate on customer service, member retention, leads and sales.- Created a suite of BI reports to enable users to visualise key business data, identify trends and accurately predict and forecast future business opportunities. - Became a Certified Level 1 Umbraco CMS Developer and conducted an overhaul of the corporate website including structural changes, new hosts and new developers. This resulted in cost savings of £30k per annum.- Negotiated a revised contract with our IT vendor that enabled us to make a saving of £30k whilst still acquiring brand new equipment including PCs, monitors, laptops and servers.As part of my role I am affiliated with: Memberwise, PARN, TPP Data Manager's Forum, ProTech User Group

I worked at BMF for almost 14 years until I opted for voluntary redundancy due to the relocation of the business to the Midlands.Responsibilities and achievements:- Implemented a new SQL server and CARE membership database and built a bespoke web-based CRM system using the .NET platform. This enabled the trading process between suppliers to be more efficient and cost-effective. - Project managed several membership recruitment campaigns that saw the membership total increase by 30% compared to previous years. An extension of this came in 2013 when I helped to broker several large-scale deals with Builders Merchant buying groups that resulted in the Federation gaining a large influx of new members en-masse.- Project managed the closure of an old office in London and the transfer of IT equipment, network infrastructure and the setting up of new systems in two new offices, including the design and implementation of a new corporate website. This was delivered on budget and ahead of schedule.
