My current position is a geotechnical engineering field technician for the company of GTA. At this position I provide quality assurance testing for construction practices utilizing soil, concrete, structural steel, and other various construction practices. I started off as an entry-level technician and have worked my way up to the more senior technician position. My day consists of scheduling, providing testing services, contacting any federal agencies that may be involved with the construction site, and writing daily reports pertaining to work done that day. Time management has been a field I have definitely mastered while working this position. Having an open line of communication was vital to a smooth workday. Some major aspects to the job included inspecting utilities (storm, sanitary, waterline, gas line, and electrical) and inspecting roadways prior and during construction with asphalt. Certifications gathered during this period include WACEL Soils I, WACEL Concrete I, and WACEL Foundations with a continuation in studying in WACEL Concrete II and ACI Concrete. Included with the description I’ll provide some projects I am/have worked on.

I started working at Philadelphia Tavern right after high school to provide funds for continuing my education at NVCC. I started off as more of a helping hand in the restaurant doing tasks such as; cleaning, mopping, running food, prepping food, and seating customers. After a month of doing that I began serving. Serving really introduced me to a new level of customer service where the motto truly seems, "the customer is always right." This really allowed me to figure out how different types of people work and how to deal with those situations. I stopped working due to the opportunity of a full time job at GTA.
