Overall responsibility for leading the Pre-Contract teams across the UK Regions for NG Bailey’s Engineering business to identify and grow our revenue of work, in our target market sectors. This includes deploying our experienced customer focussed pre-contract resources strategically to ensure that we consistently deliver value driven solutions to our existing and new customers, at market rates.

Responsibility for leading the Pre-Contract teams, across the North (Scotland, North East, and Yorkshire & North West) for the NG Bailey Engineering Business. Leading our Business Development and Bid Managements teams, to identify and secure new business opportunities and deliver value to our customers.

North & Scotland

Active within the work winning community tracking and bidding engineering and construction projects across the North East, Yorkshire and Scotland regions. To engender trust and confidence at an early stage by identifying and demonstrating an appreciation of the clients key needs, aspirations and objectives, through a practical approach. To interact with customers on appropriate design considerations / solutions identifying benefits and drawbacks of alternative options both in terms of Capex and Opex investments.Through critical information seeking and dialogue, solutions can be developed which consider current & future legislation with an in depth appreciation of the environmental considerations in relation to the key project drivers.

North East & Yorkshire

To lead and develop the Technical Management and its constituent parts within the business. To conduct independent Technical/Design reviews at all stages of a project and provide suitable recommendations with regards to statutory/regulatory compliance, risk/opportunity and best practice/innovation. Technical troubleshooting.Witnessing/Verification of installed solutions.To promote an Integrated Approach with all Key Project Stakeholders.

Responsible for the overall coordination, direction, implementation and execution of a number of MEP projects in both the private and public sectors throughout the UK, from initial design feasibility through detailed design, to installation and successful project completion.Some of the responsibilities and duties included;• facilitating the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables• defining project tasks and resource requirements• developing project plans• assembling and coordinating project staff including on site resources and outsourced resources• managing the project budget• managing project resource allocation• planning and scheduling project timelines• tracking project deliverables by using appropriate tools • provide direction and support to project team• quality assurance check• constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders• risk management• present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions• implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs• project evaluations and assessment of results

Working as part of a wider team I dealt with projects in the UK from concept/feasibility stage, through design and construction to commissioning and handover under the guidance of a director. Skills that were developed include but are not limited to the following;• HVAC design calculation in accordance with CIBSE guidelines• Building physicist for thermal modelling input criteria and results• Design and specification of efficient technologies• Computer Aided Design• Compliance checking • Detail development of concept designs to include equipment selection and specification• Liaison with architects, clients, structural engineers and contractors• Project Management• Site inspections
