I am a lead software engineer and technical architect. I enjoy tackling big challenges with great teams, building outstanding medical software to bridge the gap between healthcare and technology – making the biggest difference to the most people possible.My skills:- Agile: strong advocate for an iterative, incremental, and evolutionary approach to software engineering. Experience designing and implementing process across multiple teams, and showing the rest of the business why it is important. Worked with frameworks including Kanban, Scrum, and LeSS.- Python: built and maintained dozens of Python microservices across multiple healthcare products, mainly REST API services using Flask / FastAPI. Advocate for modern practices such as typing and asyncio. Experience over various domains including API design, integration and performance testing.- Databases: worked with SQL technologies including Postgres, SQLServer and SQLite, as well as alternatives such as Redis, MongoDB and Neo4J. Comfortable using ORMs, and performing database migrations.- QA: extensive experience with all parts of the testing pyramid, including unit testing (JUnit, Pytest, Jest), API testing (Postman/newman), UI testing (Selenium, Appium), BDD-style integration testing (behave, Cucumber.js), load testing (Locust), and writing scripts for manual user acceptance testing.- Devops: experience building complex CICD pipelines from the ground up, using tools such as CircleCI and Jenkins. At home containerising apps using Docker, orchestrating them using docker-compose, and managing containers in Kubernetes. Familiar with packaging using Helm charts and secret management.- Git: deep understanding of DVCS, capable of troubleshooting and resolving even the worst Git-related problems. Years of experience with GitHub, Bitbucket and their integrations (Slack, JIRA, CICD).- Messaging: familiar with the principles of AMQP (producers, consumers, exchanges, queues), and with implementing a RabbitMQ message broker. Good knowledge of FHIR/HL7 messaging in healthcare applications.- Javascript: Good working knowledge, built API microservices using Node.js.- JIRA: Extensive experience as a JIRA admin, customising workflows and integrating with GitHub and Slack.- Data science: Academic background with expertise in signal processing, image analysis, AI, and machine learning.
