Accomplished former police lead within counter terrorism having served nearly 29 years in frontline & specialist policing roles. My last role was a secondment to the National Counter Terrorism HQ as Maritime CT Lead coordinating the Protect & Prepare strategy. Operating at senior levels across CT and government agencies, working on risk mitigation, protective security and emergency preparedness on sensitive projects or national policy. In my current role, I work with businesses on security risk, vulnerability assessments, business continuity, operational resilience, training & exercising and providing crisis management advice so they can prepare and respond to security and risk events. Former experienced tactical and operational lead working within the Counter Terrorism Policing HQ and the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) Maritime CT Protective Security. Retired after 28 1/2 years in policing. I have considerable experience supporting the UK Government CONTEST strategy, reducing risk to the UK and overseas interests from terrorism, supporting cross-government forums, military, UK Police Forces and multi-agency partners. I worked on strengthening protection against terrorist attacks within the Maritime environment. I ensure the right level of advice, resilience and preparedness is in place to reduce vulnerability, respond and manage the risks and mitigating the impact to an attack. I assisted in supporting partnership working to build & improve national consistency, resilience and emergency preparedness to ensure there are effective consequence management plans suitable to serve as an all-encompassing Emergency Services response to any maritime terrorist incident. My last role was supporting the National Police Chiefs’ Council develop and deliver a national framework to deal with a wide range of domestic CT incidents.
