Studying archaeology at the University of Manchester in Archaeology, I focused my dissertation on site formationprocesses on the Upper Palaeolithic site of Les Varines, Jersey. This involved the use of geoarchaeology to determinewhich areas of the site had been affected by post depositional processes which guided further investigation. The resultsof this study were also displayed as a poster in the Palaeolithic – Mesolithic conference in 2016 at the British Museum.Prior to joining Wessex, I worked as a field archaeologist, carrying out a range of projects including watching briefs,evaluations, excavations and Palaeolithic test pitting.I joined Wessex Archaeology in 2019 as a Geoarchaeologist supervisor and has been primarily involved withinvestigating the Pleistocene deposits and associated Paleolithic archaeology. This includes leading teams onPalaeolithic test pitting on projects, such as HS2 Phase 1 north Palaeolithic geoarchaeological investigations, andnumerous other archaeological evaluations. Other roles within the department include the monitoring of geotechnicalground investigations, geoarchaeological borehole and hand auger surveys and the creation of deposit models usingRockworks for the investigation and interpretation of geoarchaeological deposits. This also includes the interpretation,description and recording of sediments and deposits found within these investigations.I have also collaborated on various research projects led by different institutions. Along with using hisgeoarchaeological skills I enjoys the training of students and volunteers within these projects. I am also a stone toolenthusiast, working and studying material from all prehistoric periods.
