Thailand and the Regulatory environment are very complex and dynamic ecosystems coupled with a highly competitive market. Over the period, the key tasks were the transition from voice and basic services to data, social and financial services requiring significant organization, product and technical restructuring.

Telenor Pakistan, the second largest mobile operator in Pakistan with 23 million subscribers and 3,000 employees. The CEO was tasked with transitioning the company from a Greenfield startup to monetizing the investments in a low ARPU 5-player market. At the time Pakistan was undergoing tremendous internal security, political and economic unrest all compounding to the challenge at hand. Telenor Pakistan was the first telecomm company to take a majority position in a bank and launch a suite of regulated mobile financial services. Over the period, the key tasks were maximizing existing infrastructure and preparing for a maturing traditional market with transition to data and new network technology.

Maxis Mobile, the largest mobile operator in Malaysia, expanded from a domestic only operator to a regional player with operations in Indonesia and India. The COO was tasked with running Malaysian operations and developing international proven practice to garner synergy from a strong central company with fast growing affiliates. Mandated to take the company through fundamental change given stalled domestic performance. The company grew revenue 14%, well ahead of market growth and gained revenue and subscriber market share in the period.
