Jon Elder is the Chief Operating Officer for PNC Small Business Banking. In this role, Jon and his team of are responsible for risk management, data analytics, training, employee enablement, client experience, and strategy activities for the Small Business organization, with particular focus on enabling top-line revenue growth. Jon is also responsible for coordinating staff functions across marketing, finance, product development, and human resources.Jon has served in a variety of leadership roles since joining PNC in 2014. Prior to his current role, Jon was Senior Vice President and Head of Business Strategy where he was responsible for the strategy functions across PNC’s Corporate and Institutional Banking, Retail Banking, and Asset Management Group (AMG). Prior to that, Jon was the Chief of Staff for AMG, where he was responsible for the coordinated and effective execution of the CEO of AMG’s objectives and served as a trusted advisor to AMG’s executive team. Jon previously held roles spanning corporate credit analysis, strategy, and operations across the firm.Jon earned his MBA from the University of Cambridge (specializing in strategy) and his BSBA (specializing in Finance) from Ohio State University.As a lifelong explorer and naturalist, Jon spent a summer prior to graduate school "off the grid" working as a Wilderness Ranger for the United States Forest Service. He tends to do his best thinking when near a camp fire and far out of cell service.
