About Jon Francis

A goal and results oriented individual with a proven history of high levels of performance in engineering, field operations, operations support, repair/maintenance and manufacturing. More than 25 years of engineering, technical service and manufacturing experience. Industry expertise includes engineering, manufacturing and repair/maintenance of down-hole drilling motors, MWD systems (telemetry, sensor, Li battery power sources and tubulars), procurement efforts in support of directional drilling activities and implementation of quality control procedures to maximize reliability and field performance. Previous role in the Power Section industry had me responsible for procurement efforts, manufacturing, inventory control and logistics of rotors and stators at one of the industry leaders. Installed organization and infrastructure along with sound processes to increase efficiency, cut lead times of manufacturing, and to improve quality of the product delivered to the customer. Currently tasked with manufacturing, repair/maintenance of the Scientific Drilling HALO Rotary Steerable System. We are working diligently to refine our processes/workflows, to install and maintain appropriate organization structure for the fleet of tools/activity, and to increase tool performance and reliability through constant, continual improvement efforts/evaluations of every component in the system. Our goal is to make the HALO system the best Rotary Steerable system in the industry.
