As a solids control technician, you work alongside other oil and gas service members at a drilling site or well. Your main responsibilities are to operate and to maintain the solids control equipment, which is used to separate solid particles and debris from the drilling fluids so that fluids are safe to recycle. Also perform routine maintenance on pumps by changing belts, oil, bearings and other components, centrifuges, and auger tanks also assembling or dismantling pumps as needed.
