I am conducting experiments on microbial defense to parasitism using the wasp-aphid model system. I am currently developing protocols for culturing defensive symbionts in vitro and artificial rearing of parasitoid wasps.

I am studying the biology of an invasive crop pest beetle and using molecular tools to identify biological controls, including DNA barcoding and molecular gut content analysis. I presented on this now-complete research project at the Entomological Society of America’s 2022 Joint Annual Meeting as well as several institutional and regional symposia, and I am in-review for a first-author and in-prep for a second-author publication of my work.
