Joining the company as one of the first employees I held various business development and management roles before listing the company with 130 employees on Nasdaq. My primary responsibility prior to floatation was to define and lead our market growth strategy including identification of attractive customer segments and geographies. Leading a small team of business developers, we identified key prospects and work with our marketing team to define targeted campaigns designed to nurture and generate initial contacts. We then used and developed these contacts to reach senior decision makers and to qualify and realise tangible sales opportunities.Though this process, a large part of the role was to consolidate and define product and service requirements for the new segment. This included recommendations on sourcing and even make or buy decisions along with identification and evaluation of potential acquisition targets. Most recently in this role, I was focussed on the rapidly growing 'Over The Top' TV and video service provider segment including content owners, aggregators, along with the public and commercial broadcasters. Previously I lead the development of new business in telco and cable operator TV Everywhere services, growing revenues from zero to over EUR 10m in 5 yearsI was also previously responsible for all marketing including brand positioning, product marketing, and all campaigns including events, social media, PR etc.

Maxdata Gmbh was the last independent, German PC and server manufacturerIn this role I defined the competitive positioning and pricing strategy required for export to the Scandinavian market. I Identified and contracted local marketing partners and successfully launched the Maxdata and Belinea brands in the region. I also established all commercial relationships with the leading distributors and resellers in the region including Elköp, MediaMarkt, Dustin, NetOnNet etc. closing initial sales of over EUR 3M in the first year.

United Kingdom

Xyratex Ltd (now part of Seagate) is a major OEM manufacturer of data storage systems. Here I participated in a management buy-out from IBM and listing of the company on Nasdaq. I held various positions including VP EMEA & APJ Sales & Marketing:In this role I was responsible for the setup and establishment of all sales and marketing activities in the regions, growing revenues to over EUR 40M within 5 yearsI also setup Xyratex offices in Shanghai and Tokyo and recruited sales, technical sales and support personnel. I recruited and led the Northern, Central and European sales personnel and all product marketing and marketing communications staff. My role also included management of the global sales operations / inside sales teams including all order processing, account management and product forecasting.
