About Jon Hillier

I trained as a mathematician, completing my PhD in algebra at the University of York in 1997. Since then I have worked at several universities and research institutes in mathematical modelling of chemical reactions, population dynamics, and plant and crop growth.Although I retain an interest in all the above, my current work is concerned with modelling and quantification of greenhouse gas emissions, particularly in relation to agriculture. I have been working in this field at the University of Aberdeen since 2006.
