I am Jon LaScala, Currently working with Cornerstone Contracting as an estimator. My primary focus is on estimating and buyout of federal projects on a national level, including the VA operations, National Guard, Bureau of Prisons, and numerous other publicly procured projects. I also assist on projects with submittals and project communication as an assistant to lead project managers. My last position was as an estimator for Blinderman Construction in Chicago, IL. A primary focus on estimating for public sector projects in the Chicago area including Chicago Public Schools, Public Building Commission, and O’Hare International airport. I also was involved with private client cost developments, project buyout, and project schedule development.Before Blinderman I was working as a project manager for Rossi Contractors in Northlake, IL. I was involved with estimating upcoming projects and project management. I worked on a project management team involved with new construction projects at O'Hare International Airport involving sewer and water, rail, and other general construction oversight. Prior to Rossi Contractors, I was with Divane Bros. Electric Co. where I was most recently involved in the estimating division, as well as managing traffic signal modifications for the City of Chicago. My past projects have included assisting in managing the Remote Transmitter Receiver - U and Special Purpose Area/HAZMAT construction projects at O'Hare International Airport. Additionally, I was involved on the CTA Green Line Cermak Station Construction and the Red Line Clark-LaSalle-Division Renovations. Also, in the summer of 2013 I assisted on seven Chicago Public Schools upgrading classrooms with new technologies and also providing power for air conditioning.I graduated in December 2012 with a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. My degree focused on a construction management primary with a secondary in structural design. I previously interned with Divane Bros Electric Company and was involved in project management within the Chicago Transit Authority Red Line Station Rehabilitations. Throughout my college years I interned four summers for Frank Novotny and Associates and worked on numerous municipal road construction sites in the Chicago suburbs.
