Jon works with large, multinational companies primarily in the United States, Europe, and Japan to identify and mitigate geopolitical risk and policy impacts to supply chains. Areas of responsibility and client engagement include international trade, export controls, infrastructure investment, and supply chain logistics, diversification, and capacity development.

Jon led policy development and inter-agency coordination for the White House National Economic Council and National Security Council in the following areas: all international economic matters in the regions of South and Central America, East and Southeast Asia, and Oceania as well as other oversight areas including the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the Export-Import Bank, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and international financial institutions such as the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, among other matters.

Jon served as Senior Director for Policy and Strategy in the International Trade Administration’s Office of Global Markets. He led an office of policy professionals on project engagements in the areas of strategic planning and economic analysis. He also provided policy counsel to the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets and Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service on issues including U.S. export strategy, business engagement, Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) financing, non-tariff barrier mitigation, and greenfield foreign direct investment. He has a particular focus on U.S. energy export and works with related businesses to identify international markets for penetration. The Office of Global Markets within the United States Department of Commerce includes over 1600 policy professionals located in all 50 states and 70 countries across the world.

Jon provided support to commercial and financial clients in the area of global corporate strategy development, global energy markets analysis, political and macro-economic risk analysis, equity research, and international relationship development. Client support services have also included global supply chain risk analysis, emerging markets strategy, demand and inventory forecast model development, and cost benefit analysis.

Jon was a client team manager in Deloitte's Strategy & Operations, Business Model Transformation service line. He was also a member of the Deloitte US Consulting Working Group on International Trade advising Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd. on global trade issues impacting Deloitte's US Consulting service. He has a wide range of professional skills including global trade policy analysis, six sigma business process improvement, current state analysis / future state development, change management, project and portfolio management, strategic corporate communications, and governance.
