The Package Division Manager leads division operations by planning and directing division strategies with an emphasis on operational performance, volume generation, and cost reduction. He/She ensures a safe, proficient workforce by building and developing capable management teams throughout the division, supporting positive relationships, and conveying UPS’s culture and legacies. Drives Operational Performance• Oversees the development of division operating plans to maximize operational performance and promote service and safety. • Works with operations to ensure adequate resource (i.e., people and equipment) availability that supports and builds the business. • Oversees Package operations within the division to ensure it’s safe and efficient performance. • Troubleshoots system, operational, and service issues and applies the Quality Improvement Process to ensure continuous improvement throughout the division. • Reviews and analyzes package planning reports to identify trends impacting the business. • Communicates report findings to operations and district staff to share division performance, business plan results, and incorporate those results into future operating plans. • Directs the implementation of new operations processes and techniques to ensure effective functionality. • Confirms the utilization of electronic systems (i.e., preload and dispatch) to improve performance and comply with operational plans.
