• Worked within a Scrum/Agile environment. Responsible for testers across five scrum teams.• Directly managed three managers and four individual contributors, which represented the majority of the US SQA testing workforce.• Managed the manager of our test automation efforts (whose team served many scrum teams), providing prioritization and feedback.• Awarded 2013 North America Manager of the year (nominated by direct reports, chosen by leadership)• Interviewed ~80+ candidates, hired ~20, and ~14 still worked there when I left (3 were interns who left to return to school). The SQA department’s retention was strong and the solid relationships I developed with my team were a contributing factor.• Developed training materials for new software testers and oriented them to the department.• Interacted with my direct reports at least once a week (often more) in scheduled 1:1s where we each had the opportunity to check-in/discuss whatever is in progress and otherwise on our minds.• Built custom automation tool (using C#) to refresh Excel workbooks/templates in two separate platforms (legacy and new/replacement) and provided difference reports to flag inconsistencies.• Created initial test automation for various web services using Microsoft Web Tests.• Led and directly participated in the testing of several large projects: Updating our major client-facing platforms to honor date/number formats for different cultures, translating our Excel add-in into Chinese and Japanese, completely rebuilding our existing Excel add-in platform in a newer technology, upgrading our Cisco ACE load balancers to F5 BIG-IP, and our conversion to a service oriented architecture (SOA) model.• Coordinated/led release day and patch testing activities, working closely with other departments (Project Management, Product Development, and Engineering Operations).

• Conducted FISCAM based IT Audits in support of Department of the Interior (DOI) and Department of Defense (DOD) financial statement audits performing activities such as: -- evaluating IT general controls over financial systems, -- corresponding with the client, -- maintaining/creating Provided by Client (PBC) list to track evidence requested and received from the client, -- meeting with client personnel to gain an understanding of their systems/processes, -- documenting meeting minutes,-- determining controls to be tested,-- and creating testing procedures.• Improved team interaction and project management skills by working with multiple diverse and dynamic teams on small and large engagements.• Assisted in the planning phase of an audit and interacted with and provided feedback directly to individuals at the partner, senior management, and manager levels.• Developed audit instructions and templates to provide guidance to other team members.

Researched large amounts of data to determine training and system issues. Networked with multiple departments to obtain information to design a training presentation involving my research for my manager to deliver to the Business Office Managers of all regions. Analyzed differences between current PeopleSoft system and the future version, designed a thorough training presention, and trained the Accounts Receivable department
