Provide technical assistance to federal, state, and local policymakers seeking to improve the delivery of Sixth Amendment right to counsel services across the nation.

Supported BCBSMA law department on a range of legal areas, including: federal and state privacy laws; federal and state health care regulations and compliance; constitutional law and federalism; immigration; enterprise risk management and solvency requirements; torts and litigation; health care provider contracting.

Assisted the Office of Legal Counsel in advising the Governor on an array of legal issues, including: constitutional law; ethics; security; criminal process; federal regulations and compliance; unfunded local mandates; special elections; government contracting; legislative analysis; licensing boards; public lands and access.

Provided criminal justice research, technical assistance, and consulting services to individuals, groups, and government entities working to improve defender services for the poor. Was responsible for project design, management and successful execution of all NLADA standards-based assessments of public defense delivery systems. Conducted site work in Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, and elsewhere. Also served as a trainer and facilitator in a number of workshops, presentations, and education forums.

Responsible for the effective coordination of all Defender Legal Services policies, communications and general logistics among division staff and the NLADA defender membership. Served as staff liaison to the American Council of Chief Defenders.

Primary Responsibilities: Assisted CWPT staff in the protection of endangered historic battlefield land through public relations, external communications, coordination with federal agencies and original historic research.
