Profile bio

About Jon Olsen

I am a Six Sigma Green Belt certified mechanical engineer, working in new product introduction and process development for 3D printing systems. Prior to this role, I worked manufacturing and process development for medical devices and components. The majority of my work related to laser processing, welding, and cutting of assemblies; but I also gained experience in traditional machining of components (Swiss turning and milling). Through this role, I honed my skills related to new process development, process validation and qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ), and problem solving of production floor issues. My previous role was in the Aerospace and Defense industry, where I was a manufacturing engineer for a metal machining and fabrication facility. Through that position, I've developed production CNC processes for new products, qualified machinery to increase production capacity, and led teams to find root cause and implement corrective actions for non-conformances. I've also worked as a manufacturing engineer for micro-electromechanical sensors (MEMS) and commercial navigation inertial measurement units (IMUs). In college, my co-op experience provided me opportunities to be a design engineer, manufacturing engineer, and test engineer for medical and bio-pharmaceutical couplings. I helped design custom connectors, developed improved assembly fixtures for production, and assessed real-world characteristics of the couplers. I pride myself on working hard, acting with urgency, developing quality solutions, and going above and beyond.

Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Matlab, and 18 others.
