Project ManagerScottish Water Jun 2016 - Mar 2020Edinburgh, United Kingdom- Project Manager delivering the refurbishment of the Loch Katrine Aqueducts along with a number of other projects including legacy sludge studies.- These two aqueducts were built in 1850 to 1890 and are responsible for the water supply to Glasgow and central belt. They deliver by gravity over 500ML of water per day.- This role involved taking the project from inception, navigating it through the many internal gateways, meeting and managing the many stakeholders involved, through design, out to tender and finally into construction.- On site works involved tunnel repairs to 10km of tunnels, water diversions and pumping to allow these works, repairs to the structures of 9 masonry bridges and 4 iron bridges. Work in the tunnels was complex and a due to the work faces being as far as 3km from an exit, a carefully coordinated team of rescue operatives was required.- Due to the nature of the works, compensations events were numerous, and staying on top of the administration of the contract was key. -

This involved decommissioning of the gas and installation of the MEICA works along with associated telemetry upgrades and was carried out across 35 locations in Scotland.- Caldercruix Water Treatment Works - New Build - £9mManaging one of our preferred contractors in this new build works, consisting of a 5km below ground pipeline to allow for diversion from old treatment works along with full civils construction and MEICA fit out.- Threepmuir WTW - £3mUpgrading MCC’s along with some mechanical upgrades at a live WTW responsible for supplying a part of Edinburgh’s water supply.Management of the contractor and their interface with the client was key here due to working on a live site. - Howden WTW - MCC upgrade - £2mFull replacement and testing of MCCs at live water treatment works. Complex telemetry end to end testing requirements were simplified by me saving the project just under £100k- Tweedsmuir Main out - £3m Installation of 40km of main from Talla Reservoir - along with hypo dosing units.Some complex road shuts and road crossings had to be carefully managed- Fauldhouse WWTW upgrade - £3mMix of civil and mechanical upgrades to this WWTW - including replacement of distributors on trickling bed filters, pump replacements and repairs to RC tanks. -
