Lead the Citizenship, Thought Leadership & Issues Management function to develop and execute reputation-building efforts that proactively address reputation and public affairs issues. Hired to develop strategic approach to reputation management (for corporate brand.) Leads efforts to ensure that MetLife’s corporate responsibility initiatives advance the company’s business goals. Established the foundation for MetLife’s corporate responsibility strategy and lead communications to ensure the company is seen as a responsible corporate citizen. Launched and oversee MetLife’s award-winning corporate responsibility report. Implemented new communications strategy for content which led to a 15-fold increase in traffic to the CSR web pages of MetLife.com and drove increases in MetLife’s Bloomberg ranking to 2nd in the industry – up from 10th – for Environmental, Social and Governance performance. Led efforts to obtain MetLife’s first-ever listing on the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability Index (the gold-standard for corporate responsibility) and under his leadership, MetLife was awarded its first-ever “100 Best Corporate Citizens” listing by Corporate Responsibility Magazine. In addition, lead thought leadership studies to position MetLife as a valuable contributor to society – designed, implemented and oversaw MetLife’s recent “Role of the Company” survey and obtained substantive coverage of the findings in USA Today and other publications.
