I grew up in the States, but am British by birth. I grew up with an engineering mentality, wanting to know how and why things worked and started with mechanics and electronics at a young age. My background is full of cross cultural exchanges and varying work experience in the construction industry and in IT including diagnostics and repairs down to micro soldering and PCB trace work. But business development and management is where i thrive. I spent 12 years as the chief engineer and operational manager of The BookYard Ltd, an Apple service spare specialist and repair company where I trained engineers and developed and built the company. I worked in a fast paced environment requiring critical thinking and rapid fire decision making while also requiring forward thinking and strategising. Managing B2B and B2C sales, stock procurement, the engineering department and the day to day management of the business including HR, staffing and customer service. I've seen it all.I then started my own company as a plumbing and heating engineer, specialising in bespoke installations. I grew this, despite starting at the height of the pandemic, into a flourishing business. This required a financial acumen and clear business direction to drive growth through customer relations and sales. From marketing and sales, to system design and installation and bookkeeping, I directed it all.I have been actively managing business’ most of my career and have developed interpersonal skills through both my cross cultural upbringing and my analysis and development of members in my team.I am a highly motivated and organized individual with a keen eye for detail and an analytical mindset that has made me into a person who doesn’t quit and is always looking for ways to improve and innovate processes and procedures.I am a multi-faceted worker with years of experience in business management in different fields, all adding to my ability to communicate and lead effectively. Each of my tenures have been customer facing requiring sales, technical knowledge and business prowess, and my determination and ability to learn quickly have always made me a hard working high achiever.Training and teaching are a huge part of my life, and I get satisfaction from seeing members of my team develop and flourish within their role as well as getting staff to buy into the business vision to create effective teamwork and business growth.
