Jon Ruth is a past board director and a senior manufacturing executive with more than 25+ years of experience. Mr. Ruth was a director of North Star BlueScope Steel a 50/50 joint venture between Cargill and BlueScope Steel a Melbourne Australia based steel company. In his role as a director and past Chairman of North Star BlueScope Mr. Ruth has provided leadership and oversight to the operating team in the areas of strategy, governance, capital approval, succession planning, risk management and information technology. North Star BlueScope operates in the top quartile of Steel manufacturers and is recognized by Jacobson and Associates as a leader in customer satisfaction. He led one of SAP’s largest enterprise resource planning implementations, deploying to over 7,000 users across Cargill’s businesses in Europe and North America. In this role Mr. Ruth led a large diverse global team in India, North America and Europe. Prior to his role in deploying SAP, Mr. Ruth was President of Cargill’s subsidiary North Star Steel. Mr. Ruth sat on Cargill’s Business Excellence Committee and was an examiner for their peer review audits. Ruth began his career with Tamco steel prior to joining Cargill. Ruth is a past member of the Metals Service Center Institute, the Steel Manufacturers Association, Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute, Forging Industry Association, and International Iron and Steel Institute. He is a past board member of Summit Academy OIC, a nonprofit vocational and leadership skills training center based in North Minneapolis.Ruth received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN. He completed the Executive Management Program at the University of Michigan Business School and completed the executive finance program at the University of Chicago Graduate school of Business.
