Headed-up the Press Office at East Midlands chamber, the UK's second-largest Chamber of commerce and worked hard to ensure that the voice of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire business is heard in the local, regional and national media. Also edited the Chamber's magazine, Business Network, and its predecessor, In Business.

I was first port of call in the busy press, media and community relations function at the Derbyshire Building Society, proactively handling crisis communications to protect the organisation's brand and reputation at the height of the credit crunch and during its merger with the Nationwide Building Society. This included servicing regular - and often.

Senior patch journalist at the Nottingham Post newspaper and shadow crown court correspondent. During my time at the paper, I ran its busy Mansfield office and was responsible for digging out news stories on a range of issues - from crime to business to human interest - from my network of contacts.
