As Network Manager I lead a team of highly skilled IT Professionals. Together we manage the day to day running of all network/server systems. This includes:• Management of the virtual environment (VMware vSphere 5.5)• Manage wired and wireless network infrastructure (Juniper, DLink and Aruba)• Management of security and content filters (Fortigate, routers and firewalls)• Management of the SQL Server and schools database systems (MSSQL, PostgreSQL and MySQL)• Backup design and operation (CommVault and RSync)• Web systems administration (TASS, SharePoint, Moodle and Drupal)• Provide advice and assistance for the 1:1 laptop program, including developing a single image Standard Operating Environment (Windows 8.1)My professional manner allows me to foster and maintain close working relationships with all levels of staff to ensure services are being delivered to the highest standard, this greatly assists with the Change Management process as staff feel involved and that their voice is heard.Using my project management skills, I work to deliver projects from proposal to implementation and beyond. My skills and attention to detail allow me to achieve my goals on-budget, within agreed timeframes and in line with the schools strategic plans.In addition to team management/leadership and project management, this position also enables me to utilise my problem solving skills to act as an escalation point for all technology related issues. Working on problems with other technology staff allows me to take a mentoring role within the team.

As the senior member of a small close knit team of systems administrators, I was responsible for maintaining the Network, Voice, Data and Server systems. Key duties included:• Systems Delivery Team Leader (Project Management, Change Management)• Budgeting, Planning and Procurement (including vendor and quote negotiations)• Responsibility for all Linux systems (SuSE and Redhat) and all networking equipment (HP, F5, Cisco and Fortigate)• Setup and maintain enterprise backup systems (HP Data Protector)• Manage telephony systems (Avaya, Mitel and Asterisk)• Monitor security and firewall policies

Starting as a part-time IT Support Technician, I quickly proved my worth and obtained a full time position. I worked as a member of the support team for three years, helping with all technology related issues while developing and applying my systems administration knowledge. In 2004 I was promoted to the role of Network Administrator, where I managed many of the critical services. Key duties included:• Oversee day to day operation of all network services (file, print, email, internet and backup)• Provide high level technical support• Provide professional development sessions to staff• Develop and maintain the standard operating environment for all desktop and laptop computers• Mentoring junior staff• Managing the implementation of major projects (SAN implementation, backup system and online web portal)
