As the lone IT Administrator for the Merchant Solutions division of Newtek I single-handedly managed all aspects of IT. From new user creation and access control, Help desk, Desktop support, Exchange, Antivirus, Windows Updates, Backups, remote access to the Remote Desktop server (Terminal server), printers, faxes – both stand alone and a Fax server, building card access, and more. Facilitated over 2 dozen servers – file servers, application, web, fax, SFTP\FTP, backup, antivirus, Remote desktop (Terminal sever), Hyper-V, Domain controller, and a SonicWall firewall.• Converted corporate Windows Update system to SCCM. Deployed applications through this system also.• Upgraded McAfee EPO server to latest version. Consolidated all clients to this new server, eliminating three other servers, including adding an entire new domains computers.• Constructed a PowerShell script that runs at login, configured through Group Policy that detects if the user has the official signature and if not prompts the user for information then generates the signature with the correct font, formatting, division logo picture, phone number, etc. With many other checks such as OS type (Workstation, Server, Terminal Server), Office version, and more. The script has over 450 lines of code.

Managed and upgraded McAfee Enterprise VirusScan on the LAN servers and the company desktops, making sure the DAT’s and scanning engines stayed current. Audited quarterly the Netware file access rights, creating reports for department managers and documenting any changes that are required. • On a LAN of over 250 servers executed daily monitoring, scheduled jobs, and cultivated the backup system consisting of Commvault Galaxy backup software running on three servers each of which have a multiple tape drive library attached• Built and controlled access for users in Netware, NT Domain, Active Directory, Exchange. and FAX systems.

Greater Milwaukee Area

Primary Analyst for a mixed Networking environment, our main file servers were Novell. Our remote users connected thru Nfuse, the web access for Citrix MetaFrame. We had a ten server MetaFrame farm running Windows 2000 Server with Terminals services. One of our Novell servers had a sixteen port fax service running on it. We also had a Windows 2000 Exchange server. Recruited as a Computer Operator to run jobs on the Tandem Mainframe I increased my knowledge and demonstrated my value as an employee. I quickly advanced through the organization, first to Help Desk support, then Desktop Support to Secondary Analyst and continuing on to Principal Network Analyst for our 200 internal and 500 remote users. I took pride in being the person that knew all about the varied systems we had and was able to relate to the users, the network and programming staff, and the management team. Unfortunately, our company was acquired by a very large corporation which consolidated the operations in another state and my position was eliminated.
