Vick, the Founding Partner of ASCs Inc. and Vick & Company Inc., Valley Center, CA, has advised on development, merger & acquisition transactions for over 500 physician-owned ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), GI endoscopy centers, heart centers, surgical hospitals, and other healthcare facilities since 1984. He advises owners of ASCs on how to maximize the value of their ASCs and their ASC/MOB real estate, and on creating strategic partnerships with ASC management companies, private equity firms and/or hospitals. Mr. Vick founded and was a principal shareholder of SurgiCenter Development Corporation (SDC: 90 ASCs) in 1984 and Endoscopy Center Affiliates (ECA: 20 Endoscopy Center Partnerships) in 1992, and served as EVP of Development for Cardiovascular Ventures Inc. (CVI, New Orleans) from 1995 to 1997. He participated as a General Partner for a national network of Medicare certified surgery and endoscopy centers that he co-founded and that was sold in 1995. He has over 35 years of experience in ASC development, business planning, operations, valuations, and mergers, sales & joint ventures, and sale/leaseback of ASC/MOB real estate. Since 1998 as the Founder and Managing Partner of ASCs Inc. he has advised owners of over 300 ASCs in valuing and selling interests in their ASCs at the maximum value by fully valuing all the aspects of the ASC enterprise, including future potential earnings, and through competitive bidding.Prior to his work with outpatient surgical facilities, Mr. Vick held marketing and sales positions with Bausch & Lomb (1971 to 1977, Rochester, NY and Johannesburg, South Africa), and with American Medical Optics (1978 to 1981, Irvine, CA). In 1981 he founded medical products distributor Western Technologies in Costa Mesa, CA. Since 1984 he has founded and developed several companies to advise ASC owners on strategic partnerships and real estate sale-leaseback transactions.Mr. Vick holds a B.A. from Hamilton College, Clinton, NY (1964), and an LL.B. (1969) from La Salle University, earned while in the U.S. Air Force (Regular Officer, Weapons Controller, 1964 to 1970) in Asia and W. Germany. He is an instrument rated pilot with multi-engine and commercial endorsements, and a fair-weather sailor. From 2004 to 2009 he served as President of Alpha Delta Phi, a literary society of 28,000 members.
