As MOSAC's inaugural facilities manager I have assisted in developing and implementing new and revised policies, practices and processes throughout our operation. Responsible for maintaining the built environment; recruiting, supervising, and scheduling all maintenance, custodial and security services via staff and contractors. Provide OSHA compliance through, training, reporting, and record keeping. Provide safety and security trainings for staff and volunteers. Support various departments to accommodate special events and building rentals. Manage the use of all building systems including, intrusion and fire alarm systems, video surveillance, access control and building automation systems (BAS). Work in conjunction with various agencies and local organizations to help foster strong public / private partnerships in an effort to manage a multifaceted and iconic museum facility.

Perform hands-on maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance work to a large and complex campus of buildings and equipment. This included a new 6500 sq. ft. spay and neuter clinic facility. The work demanded I kept current my extensive knowledge in commercial plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, mechanical, and light metal fabrication. I was consulted by most all departments when projects and or installations involved our facilities in a multitude of ways. I led crews of volunteers, scheduled and oversaw the work of all outsourced contracted work, and provided quality control to ensure a safe and operable facility for staff, patrons, volunteers, and animals.

I maintained consistent communication with program coordinators and other key staff members in order to stay apprised of change orders and or special requests from instructors, presenters and other end users. I supplied each room with materials as specified by the given course or program. I assisted with catering services. I supported the facilities team with light maintenance to our buildings and equipment. Using a cargo van I delivered mail and supplies throughout CSUS campus and using multi passenger vans I transported students, and visitors to off campus engagements often acting as a tour guide for exchange students.
